Engineering Manager @ Standard Chartered Bank

April 2019 — August 2023
  • Payments Platform (neXus-Pay): Architected and deployed an end-to-end payments ecosystem supporting high-value interbank transfers via payment gateways, PSD2-compliant staged payments, and BNPL/loan disbursements and repayments. Delivered key consumer capabilities including QR Payments, FAST, Bill Payments, peer-to-peer fund transfers, and agency-banking cash deposits/withdrawals.
  • Debit Cards Management Platform: Built a PCI-DSS compliant card management engine handling digital card issuance, activation, liecycle management (block/unblock/replace), and secure PCI data transmission (PAN, CVV2, PIN). Enabled support for 3DS, POS, MIT, and CIT transaction flows linked directly to customer CASA accounts.
  • Digital Onboarding Platform: Engineered an automated, paperless KYC onboarding engine that reduced user acquisition time to under 3 minutes. Integrated GPU-accelerated cloud services for ID document scanning, facial liveness verification, and biometric matching, along with seamless API connections to national credit bureaus, AML/PEP screening systems, and employment/tax registries.

Technical Lead @ J P Morgan Chase

April 2012 — April 2019
  • Operations Task Manager : Engineered core microservices for JPMorgan’s enterprise operational exception management platform, supporting a bluefield microservices ecosystem handling 25M+ complex workflow cases across multiple business lines, Omnichannel Integration & Resiliency: Integrated multi-channel ingestion capabilities (UI, messaging, email, and conversational AI/chatbots) utilizing Spring Boot, Netflix OSS (Eureka, Zuul, Hystrix), GemFire, and Elasticsearch to maximize platform scalability, fault tolerance, and search capability.
  • Securities Core Processing Platform (SCPP) : Developed critical modules within JPMorgan’s strategic multi-component platform for middle- and back-office operations, processing high-volume equity, fixed income, and custody asset movements globally. Built high-throughput EOD processing engines—including real-time market valuation, contractual/auto-settlement, and cross-regional state management across US, EMEA, and APAC markets. Clearing, Settlement & Regulatory Compliance: Managed settlement and clearing logic for Asian custody hubs (Singapore, Hong Kong) and designed regulatory reporting pipelines (e.g., LRI reports for US federal compliance). Architected a high-speed write-behind persistence API leveraging Apache Geode/GemFire, optimizing data ingestion to Oracle Exadata while using Java, Akka, and Apache Qpid for distributed messaging.
